Presented by: Ningjie Tim Huang, LCSW
Tim graduated from Tulane University in May 2016 with masters in social work and disaster resilience leadership. He currently works at HMG Healthcare, a post-acute healthcare provider in Houston for the geriatric client population. As a board-approved clinical supervisor (LCSW-S) for the state of Texas, Tim offers social work supervision to MSW interns, LBSWs, and LMSWs in addition to providing teletherapy to clients utilizing holistic approaches. As an educator and life-long learner, Tim enjoys turning the classroom into a laboratory for the exploration of new insights and challenging the students' frames of reference to help expand their worldview. His interests include hiking, biking, podcasting, and hanging out with his adorable pets.
Learning Objectives:
1. Be able to define and describe burnout, secondary traumatic stress disorder, compassion fatigue, and compassion satisfaction.
2. Be able to develop a better understanding of the prevention, development, and treatment of compassion fatigue.
3. Be able to identify and differentiate signs/symptoms of stress and burnout.
4. Outline the self-assessment of compassion fatigue and satisfaction.
5. Be able to identify self-care strategies to help manage stress and mitigate compassion fatigue/burnout and increase resilience among social workers.
