NASW Oregon Chapter hires a lobbyist each session to represent social
workers and our professional values in Salem. These values include
compassion and service, social justice, and promoting the dignity and
worth of all individuals. Our legislative activities include advocating
on behalf of issues related to mental health services, funding human
services programs, justice reform, poverty, and civil rights. Other
issues that we are involved with are regulatory in nature, related to
licensure or other practice-related issues.
Maintaining a lobbyist enables us to keep a close eye on proposed
legislation and brings a voice in Salem on behalf of the social work
profession and the needs of our clients.
NASW cannot do this important work without YOUR help!
Each session, we need to raise funds to continue our lobbying program,
and it cannot be done without your support. Please make your one-time
or monthly donation of $100, $75, $50 or $25 or the amunt you can afford
to give to assist in sustaining and stabilizing this very important
program.
